Poor Road Networks Deters School-Going Children From Attending School At Gwira

The Omanhene of Gwira Traditional Area, Awulae Angama Tu-Agyan II says poor road systems in the area is depriving school-going children of access to good education.

According to him, children who gain admission into the only Secondary School in the area do not return due to the bad nature of the road, and this in turn affects enrolment into the school.

“The Gwira community is doing well in terms of education but there are challenges confronting it. Children who get admission into the school, get sacred and do not return because of the deplorable nature of the road. That is a major challenge.

During the President’s visit to this town, we presented it to him and they told us the road has been given out on contract. We look forward to seeing the contractor on site soon

This, he says is a major challenge, but looks forward to the contractor who has been awarded the contract completing the project for the betterment of the people,” Awulae Tu-Agyan said.

Awulae Angama Tu-Agyan II further touted the government’s construction of the E-block schools which has witnessed a significant improvement in education.

He, however, says, currently, the Senior High School requires a boarding facility, and that can increase the school’s enrolment.
