The Effia Kwesimintsim Health Directorate under the auspices of the Ghana Health Service is set to roll out the 5th round of the National Immunisation Campaign of the Covid-19 vaccination.
The objective of the campaign is to raise population immunity against the Covid-19 disease as well as prevent further outbreaks of the disease.
The exercise spans from Wednesday, December 14 to Monday, December 19, 2022.
According to the Municipal Health Director, Madam Joyce Bagina, there is still low immunity recorded among the sub-municipalities, and it is on this note that the Health Directorate is embarking on the campaign especially as we approach the Yuletide which comes with lots of celebrations.
This move the directorate believes will help to contain the spread of the disease and in turn, boost the number of vaccinated population.
Madam Bagina assured the public of the safety of the vaccines and called on the public to desist from saying unpleasant words to the health professionals who come to give them the vaccine.
She remarked that the Directorate has employed a number of strategies to reach out to the population in homes, lorry stations, churches, mosques amongst others.
She advised people to readily make their vaccination cards ready so that their records can be entered into the database, and further entreated them to take care of the cards, adding that persons who faces any complications from the vaccine report to the nearest health center.
