Students of TTU Speak To The Effect Of TUTAG’s Industrial Action On Academic Work
Following an indefinite industrial strike by the Technical University Teachers’ Association of Ghana,(TUTAG) on November 18, 2022, academic work has come to a halt at the Takoradi Technical University (TTU).
The strike comes as a result of the government’s inability to honor the codified conditions of service of members of TUTAG.
Since then, members of the Association have withdrawn their services until the government respond to their demands.
However, students of the Takoradi Technical University in an interview have reacted to the effect of the strike action on their academic work, and pleaded with government to address the concern of the TUTAG to enable them resume work.
According to them, learning on their own is difficult.
Meanwhile, the management of the University has suspended all academic activities following the ongoing strike action by TUTAG after its 22nd Emergency Academic Board meeting.
A letter signed by the Registar, Moses Maclean Abnory stated that film academic activities will resume on January 6, 2023.
