TUTAG Declares Indefinite Strike

The Technical University Teachers’ Association of Ghana (TUTAG) chapter of the Takoradi Technical University (TTU) has declared an indefinite industrial action effective today, November 18,2022.

Addressing the media in a press conference, at the Takoradi Technical University, the local Secretary of TUTAG, Dr Boakye Yiadom, says the strike comes on the back of government’s failure to honour their codified conditions of service of it’s members which has been outstanding since 2016.

Dr. Boakye Yiadom notes that National Labour Commission (NLC) directed the Ministry of Finance to write letters to the various heads of technical institutions to implement the negotiated internally generated fund-related conditions of service has not been heeded.

He adds that TUTAG are not being treated fairly with regards to negotiations on conditions of Service.

Dr. Yiadom called on Technical teachers to withdraw their services until authorities honour their demands.
