The family of Ruth Quayson, one of the three Kidnapped girls has reacted to the Regional Minister‘s claims that all kidnapping issues are just hoax.

This comes after the Regional Minister’s address on the state of affairs in the region.

According to the Regional Okyere Darko Mensah, there are no kidnappings in the region, and touts that the region as safe.

“There was no kidnapping happening in Western Region. It was in the minds of people as they wanted to disgrace our city. All of them were fake. Even the last one that happened in Mpohor……. There’s no kidnapping happening in Western Region,” He said.

In response to the Minister’s claim, Rebecca Quayson, sister to Ruth Quayson one of the kidnapped girls, in an interview on Spice FM expressed disappointment in the Minister.

She disclosed that the families of the kidnapped victims will have to inquire about the whereabouts of their relatives from the Regional Minister.

” The family decided not to pursue the matter of the kidnapped girls again because all efforts to bring them back yielded no fruit. First of all, why will the Minister mention in Accra that all kidnappings in the region are fake?

Is the Minister trying to tell us that the visit by prominent people to the house of the parents were fake?

Was the suspect linked to the kidnapping case also fake?
If the Minister is saying all the kidnappings are fake, then we will assume they know where the girls are. Maame Tiwaa at some point made it clear that she knows where the girls,” She stated.

The kidnapped girls; Ruth Quayson, Priscilla Blessing Bentum, Priscila Kuranchie, and Ruth Abekah were believed to have been kidnapped between August 2018 and January 2019.
