NBA : Lakers back to winning ways sparked by Matt Ryan 3 pointer clutch
Wednesday fixture between Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans seemed to be a trickier encounter. On any day, it would have been a sure win for Lakers but not this season.
Before the game Lakers have had just a win from their last six games. The match was a test to see if LeBron’s side are back on their feet or not yet.
The first half saw Lakers picked up a 12 points lead (56-44), but was closed down by Pelicans in the third quarter (79-82).
Down the stretch in the fourth quarter, with 3 points deficit, Pelicans overturn the points difference to their favour in a contest that looks like a sixth defeat for Lakers. For Lakers’ fans, the time was ticking faster, but slower for Pelicans’ fans.
When all seemed over, with some few seconds to go, Matt Ryan received a superb pass which he appreciated with a clutch three pointer to force the game to Overtime; where Lakers beat Pelicans (9-6) to attain (120-117) win.
Commenting on the pass to Ryan in a postmatch interview, LeBron James recounted
“That’s a very difficult pass. You have to be little bit on time and on target. You gotta try to give it to the corner… that’s a perfect pass, perfect set-up.”
L. Walker finished with 28points, 1 assist, and 18 rebounds. LeBron James dropped 20points, 4 assists, and 18 rebounds. Lakers are now on (2-5), and Pelicans (4-3).
