W/R: Family Of Late NPP Treasurer Disappointed With Pace Of Investigations
The family of the late Mark Ofori, a Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western Region has expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of investigation into the murder of their relative.
This year, October 30 marks exactly three years since the demise of the NPP Treasurer but no arrest has been made yet.
Mr Ofori was shot dead in his Fijai residence in Sekondi by an unknown attacker.
Speaking to Kwame Offei on Spice FM this morning, a sister of the late NPP official, Dillyx Ofori says, the police haven’t communicated anything to the family.
She added that the New Patriotic Party has not shown any commitment even though the family has presented a petition to them to help bring the perpetrators to face the law, as well as assist the family in catering for the children of the deceased.
“We don’t have any information from the Police. One of my brothers has been going to the Police to inquire about the progress of the case but they fail to give any concrete information.
There are no encouraging words from the Police to the family. It looks like the case is a forgotten issue. Everyone has forgotten about it. They have forgotten about him.
This is so painful.
I wonder even if the Party remembered to celebrate his 3rd anniversary. Even if they didn’t, we as a family do remember him.
We have reached out to the party by presenting a petition to them to give us some hope in knowing how far the case has gotten to. For the past two months now, no word has been heard from them since,” Dyllix stated.
She further called on security agencies and the New Patriotic Party leadership to be apt about the case to bring some comfort to the family.
“This can happen to anyone too so we plead with the Police and other security agencies to investigate thoroughly to bring out the truth for everyone.
The NPP leadership should also help out by showing some concern on the issue,” She said.
