The leadership of the Ghana Union of Traders Association has called for the reopening of shops for business today.
The decision was reached following a series of meetings with President Akuffo Addo and other government officials last night.
Dr Joseph Obeng, the President of GUTA says, “the President has given all the assurances that he shares the concerns and plight of the Association and that his government will do everything to stabilise the economy.”
He implored the traders to go and open their shops and do business to feed their families, adding that traders benchmark their prices so they do not lose their capital given the continuous depreciation of the Ghanaian currency.
” Be careful that you have to benchmark your pricing with the flying dollar otherwise you lose off your capital,” He said.
Dr. Obeng also advises the traders to revise their prices according to the rate of change.
