Address Concerns Of Labour Unions – Government Told
Labour Expert Austin Gamey, has asked the government to listen to the concerns of the Labour Unions on the appointment of Dr Eric Nkansah as the Acting Director General of Ghana Education Service (GES).
In a media engagement, Mr Gamey said whilst the President has the mandate to appoint, the agitation by the Teacher Unions is a sign of bad blood and a difficult time ahead for Dr Nkansah.
” Even though it is the right of the employer to appoint people, they are going to work with other people and these other people are critical for the sector.
So it should be of great concern to the appointee if people are not comfortable working with him.”
Mr Gamey noted that, if the concerns are not resolved, the members may not cooperate fully, especially when the description is not palatable.
