Revise Education Curriculum To Produce Critical Thinkers – Sociologist

Minister of Education

The Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum hints at government’s intention to change the three-year education system at the Senior High School level to six -years to ensure the students become well-grounded and problem solvers before entering the universities.

However, a sociologist, Frank Agyei Mensah believes only changing the number of years from three to six won’t make the needed impact.

According to him, there’s also the need to revise the current education curriculum to make the students generational thinkers.

Mr Agyei Mensah described the country’s education system as one that is contributing to the huge unemployment situation.

According to him, the type of education practiced in Ghana does not create problem solvers and entrepreneurs but rather adds to the many challenges the nation is confronted with.
