Member of Parliament for Essikado – Ketan Constituency, Joseph Ghartey has called on constructors working on the renovation works between Kojokrom and Nkroful Junction Road, Asabea Construction Limited, to as a matter of urgency see to the construction of the road.
“We’ve decided to terminate the contract and are ready to face them in court if need be . The Minister along with other contractors visited the site.
When awarding a contract,we take the duration in consideration as every contract has an expiry date.
You cannot terminate a contract before its due date , this can happen incase of non-performance by the contractor.
We have heard of his numerous achievements in Appiatse and other places and we hope to see the same achievements in Sekondi Takoradi”
He said this when the Roads Minister, Mr Akwasi Amoako Atta paid a working visit to the site as part of his inspection on ongoing projects at Tarkwa – Agona Nkwanta Road in the region.
Mr Amoako Atta urged engineers of the Ministry of Roads and Highways to take note of the government plan to ensure that anytime a contract is awarded for a highway project it will be dualised.
