Ghana will for the second time hold a series of meetings with representatives of the International Monetary Fund(IMF) as the country seeks a loan facility to help navigate through the economic hardship.
The team led by Mission Chief for Ghana, Stephane Roudet will be in Accra from today, September 26, 2022, to October 7 to continue discussions with the authorities on policies and reforms that could be supported by IMF lending agreement.
The Fund announced yesterday, that it will further engage with other stakeholders during the visit on the same issue.
An IMF staff team was in Accra in July to assess the current economic situation and discuss the broad lines of the government to enhance domestic programs.
The engagement between Ghana and IMF is expected to be completed in about 6 to 7 months.
Ghana is eligible for a credit facility of up to 3 billion dollars under the IMF extended credit facility and extended fund facility.
