Hotel Rates Likely To Be Increased By The End Of The Year

The Ghana Hotels Association (GHA) has indicated that it will soon increase rates by the close of the year if nothing is done about the new utility tariffs implemented.

The National President of the Ghana Hotels Association, Dr Edward Nyameke Ackah said the high cost of goods and services has increased the cost of operation of its members of which is negatively affecting their operations. Some members are considering shutting down or converting their facilities.

According to the Association, taxes from other regulatory bodies levied on hoteliers has also become a major challenge affecting its members.

Mr Ackah stressed that members do not have any option but to increase the hotel rate to enable hoteliers break even.
