The Lawyer for the embattled District Chief Executive of Ellembele Constituency, Kwesi Bonzoh has been denied access to seeing his client at the Police Headquarters.
According to Lawyer Salome Erica Abakah, she immediately rushed to the Police Headquarters upon hearing of the arrest of her client, but she has since been denied access to see him.
” I have been here to see my client but I was told to wait, I hung around for almost an hour. I then had to go and come back and yet I have not been able to establish contact with my client. Probably he doesn’t know I’m around, ” she said.
In an interview with the media, she expressed optimism about her client being granted bail, adding that her client is yet to write a statement.
Lawyer Salome. Abakah said denying her access to establish formal contact with her client is upfront to the constitutional privileges.
She said, her client has not been charged yet, which makes him entitled to see his lawyers. However, the DCE and the three other persons arrested are being detained at the Police Headquarters in Sekondi.
