Poor Drainage System, High Rate Of Unemployment, A Major Challenge Facing Residents of Apremedo

Residents of Apremedo, a community in the Effia-Kwesimintim Municipality are calling on city authorities to come to their aid to combat the several challenges facing the community.

Speaking in an interview with Beach Newsroom, some of the residents disclosed that poor drainage system is a major cause of flood whenever there is a heavy downpour adding that the activities of individuals also contribute to the flooding situation.

They also revealed that defective street lights, poor road network, poor sanitation, high rate of unemployment among the youth and a lack of a place of convenience are also challenges hampering development in the area.

Meanwhile the Chief of area, Nana Egya Kwmaina IV also disclosed that the high rate of unemployment has rendered some of the youth to engage in illicit activities and called for the construction of educational facilities to accommodate school going children.

” The greatest issue in Apremdo is the bad nature of internal roads. There is Poor sanitation due to lack of facilities to help in keeping refuse. Another difficulty we face is the drug abuse amongst the youth.

There are no proper structures when it comes to school in the community as well,” Nana Egya Kwamina stated.
