Some fisher folks in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis are appealing to the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development and the Chairman of the National Pre-mix fuel Committee to engage canoe owners on plans for the distribution of pre-mix fuel.
According to them the inadequate supply of Premix Fuel is hampering their work and has worsened the plight of artisanal fishers, who are already going through difficult times due to the near-collapse of artisanal fisheries.
Speaking exclusively to Beach Newsroom, these fisher folks revealed that the fundamental problem of inadequate and erratic supply and the high level of politicization must be addressed to allow the automation system to function to the fullest.
