President Akuffo Addo Instructs Col Damoah To Hand Over To His Deputy
The President Akuffo Addo has instructed Col. Kwadwo Damoah, the Commissioner-General of the Customs Division at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to transfer authority to his deputy.
This comes after his service agreement expired.
President Akufo-Addo in a letter to him dated August 26, 2022, said “Following the expiration of your contract of service as Commissioner (Customs Division) of the Ghana Revenue Authority on 13th October 2021, the President of the Republic has directed that effective Friday 26th August 2022 you hand over duty and office to the Acting Deputy Commissioner (Preventive Service) Mr Asiedu Iddisah, who will act as the Commissioner (Customs Division) pending the President’s substantive appointment.
“The President thanks you for your service to the state and wishes you well in your future endeavours.”
After being apprehended in the Labianca Food scandal that the Office of the Special Prosecutor revealed, Col. Damoah became the center of a controversy (OSP).
Nevertheless, he claimed that the OSP was seeking to bring him down.
Following a scandal involving a business owned by a Council of State member, the OSP recovered almost GHC1 million GHC1,074, 627.15) in unpaid import duties from Labianca Foods.
