Mr. Barima Barnie says the rains washed away some of their pipelines thus the shortage of water experienced by residents in the area.
The contractor he mentions is on site to ensure people get water for their activities.
He nevertheless did not give timelines on when water will be restored .
“The Contractor is working to get water restored to our customers in Effiakuma and other communities. We are tackling the problem as of now. However, there are no timelines on when they can get water flowing through their taps,” He said.
He advised customers to pay their bills on time to enable the company to generate revenue to manage the affairs of the company.
“Ghana Water Company generates revenue through the monies customers pay for services offered to them.
Sometimes, these customers pile their bills for a long time without paying, and this doesn’t augur well for us.
We run the company with money and so when our customers refuse to pay their bills, it hampers the business. We plead with our customers to pay their bills, for us to get enough funds to run the business,” He added.
