7 transport operators including Metro Mass Transit Limited in the Western Region are requesting the Sekondi- Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly to humbly retract their Press Release for deceiving the public and the good people of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.
Yesterday, the Sekondi- Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly in a press statement disclosed that the Assembly was tasked to take measurement and provide scenarios to determine whether the applicant, VIP Jeoun Transport could be accommodated at the terminal.
The Assembly therefore on Friday, June 10, 2022, sent officers to the terminal accordingly for the assignment as agreed in the meeting.
According to the Assembly all material time consulted the relevant stakeholders on the decision to accept or decline the VIP Jeoun Transport’s application.
The Assembly therefore demanded an unqualified apology and a retraction from the Metro Mass Regional Manager for the defamation and falsely accusing the Hon. Regional Minister and Acting Mayor as well as lying to the public that their allocated loading point has been taken from them.
In a press statement sighted by Beach newsroom today, the 7 member transport operators disclosed that the name VIP JEOUN transport never came up in any of the meetings nor their Press Conference as perceived by the Assembly.
The statement further adds that, “Mr. Patrick Sebe and the assembly have therefore deceived and lied to the Western Regional Minister in this regard, and the public must note as such.
We are in waiting to receive the retraction of their Press Release since it is an attempt to divert attention from the subject matter”.
