Victims of Appiatse Explosion Calls For More Donations
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Appiatse Disaster Relief Committee, Thywill Quarshie says, victims of the Appiatse Explosion need assistance to make life meaningful to them.
He reckons that life has not been the same since the incident happened.
According to the PRO, even though victims have received donations from both public and private organisations, there’s more to be done.
He says, some victims are still in critical conditions and needs special support to keep up.
Mr Quarshie discloses that work is steadily going on with the reconstruction of the community.
He also pleads with benevolent Ghanaians to come to their aid.
“Life has not been easy for the victims of Appiatse. Those who sustained various injuries are suffering even though there have been donations from organizations. There’s no money coming to us, except that of the Red Cross Society.
Seven months without money is unbearable, especially for those in critical conditions.
We are not relieved yet. We were living our lives before this unfortunate incident, and sometimes it’s shameful begging people to come to our aid.”
Mr Quarshie again revealed that contractors have arrived on site after the necessary rites were performed by traditonal leaders, and that very soon work would begin.
