LPG Marketers Association Calls Off Strike

The three-day strike by the LPG Marketers Association has been called off.

The Association joined the Ghana National Petroleum and Tanker Drivers Union’s strike, which started on Monday and was in response to several issues, including the 2017 ban on the construction of LPG stations.

The LPG Marketers Association called off the strike after a crucial cabinet meeting last night, that lifted the ban on the construction of some gas dispensing facilities.

According to Gabriel Kumi, Vice President of the LPG Marketers Association, the Association is pleased with the government’s participation. But he issued a warning against trying to irritate members.

Given that some of the structures had been abandoned for a time and might have lost structural integrity, Mr. Kumi stated that members of the Association have no concerns about reapplying for permits with the NPA.
