Consumers Feel The Impact Of LPG Tankers Drivers Protest

The sit down strike by the Gas and Petroleum Tanker Drivers Association (GTDA) yesterday is having a toll on the consuming public.

The strike has led to the closure of many gas stations in the country.


The indefinite protest called by the association is to lay over their claims of the poor working conditions and unfair treatment of it members by Bulk Oil Storage Transport (BOST) and National Petroleum Authority (NPA) since 2017.

Consumers of LPG are going through a tough time as many gas stations in the region are shut following the protest.

Speaking to some consumers, they lamented that, the strike will affect their businesses especially drivers who use gas for their businesses.

Consumers who use gas for cooking are now resorting to firewood.


They urge the government to reconsider the decision as they would also be affected.
