Ahantaman Girls High School Launches 75th Anniversary
The Ahantaman Girls Senior High School has launched its 75th Anniversary today at the school premises.
The theme for the celebration, ’75th years of promoting discipline as a tool for STEM education: the role of stakeholders.’
Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the event, Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, charged the students to continue to study hard and make a mark in the school.
He assured them that the Western Regional Coordinating Council is ready to support the school to excel.
“I want to tell the students and staff that the hardwork they’ve been putting in the school has been recognised by government, and government would do whatever it takes to continue to invest in this school to make it one of the best in the region.”
The Regional Education Director, Madam Felicia Agyeibea Okai noted that the selection of the theme is suitable to pause and look back at this seventy-five journey, the achievements, success stories, challenges and way forward.
The Head Mistress of the School, Madam Ernie Kankam said, the school aims to bring all and sundry inside the nest of the cradle of academia to start in earnest preparation for the landmark anniversary.
“You will agree with me that 75 years in the life of an institution is worth celebrating, so it is worthy congratulating the past and present Heads, past and present Board of Governors, past and present staff, students and the entire AHOSA fraternity for achieving this milestone.” “
As part of the celebrations, there were cash donations from Guest speakers, Old Boys and Girls of the school as well as parents and well-wishers to support the celebration of the school’s anniversary slated for next year July 29, 2023.
There were also solidarity messages received from school representatives, Members of Parliament, Old Students and the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA)
