Yaya Toure to join Tottenham’s coaching Staff
Former Manchester City and Barcelona star Yaya Toure is set to join Tottenham’s academy coaching staff on a permanent basis.
Former Tottenham Hotspur player Jermain Defoe has also joined the setup.
Toure has been working with the club’s youth team on a part-time basis since December, while Defoe has begun the next phase of his career after retiring from competitive action in March.
Both former players have worked with Tottenham to obtain coaching badges, and the Evening Standard reports that Defoe and Toure are set to be given permanent contracts with the academy to further their development.
Each will be given responsibility for their own age group as part of a revamped academy setup that also includes former Manchester City and Anderlecht coach Simon Davies as head of the academy methodology.
