NPP Communicator Calls For New Reforms In Party Constitution
Philip Afari, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communication Team in the Western Region has associated the defeat of John Boadu, in the just-ended National Delegates Conference to the loss of some seats during the 2020 general elections.
In an interview with Beach News Room, Mr Afari commended the performance of the out-going General Secretary, John Boadu even though he could not retain his position.
” John Boadu’s loss, I think is because of the seat lost in the 2020 elections and all the blames were attributed on him. I think, he did well looking at the votes pulled,” He said.
He described the disenfranchisement of the TESCON to vote as a conflict of interest amongst the members and called on the new executives to reform the party’s constitution.
“I will urge the new leaders to look at our constitution again because of the TESCON bid. Some members were not allowed to vote because of the injunction placed on the members. I think leadership should take a second look at the constitution, ” Afari noted.
However, Mr Afari noted that the new executives means a new era which will ensure the unity of the party as they lace their boots to fulfill the agenda break the 8 mantra, adding that the party has a track record of implementing policies to serve the needs of Ghanaians.
” Going into 2024 elections, the new executives should get everybody involved to break the 8 as the party envisions, I believe NPP is the only party that can help to improve,” He added.
