Human Activities, Major Factor Of Global Warming – Meteorologist

The Western Regional Director of Ghana Meteo Agency (GMA), Mr Christian Ayi has reiterated that global warming comes about as a result of some human activities carried out in homes, industries and others.

He was speaking to Spice FM on the theme, ‘Understanding Global Warming and working together to mitigate its impact.”

Mr Ayi mentioned that the region used to record a minimum temperature ranging from 20 -22, and a maximum of 30 – 32 degrees Celsius. Currently, the region is making a maximum record of 33- 34 and a minimum of 24 -25 degrees Celsius.

He said the pollution in the environment such as the burning of waste material, and the felling of trees are some of the factors contributing to global warming.

He advised residents to plant more trees, and avoid burning if waste to conserve the environment.

Mr Ayi nonetheless reveals that his outfit is challenged with some working equipment such as desktop computers and appealed to well-meaning Ghanaians to come to their aid.
