A substance that looks like crude oil has been discovered by residents of Apremdo here in the Western Region beneath the earth.
The traditional ruler for the area, Nana Egya Kwamena XI in an interview with Beach Newsroom said the community cannot confirm the content of the sticky black substance, but called on experts to carry out further investigations and ascertain what exactly the substance could be.
The chief and his elders are hoping the substance would turn out to be a meaningful carbon resource especially crude oil or mineral resources capable of assisting in transforming the area in terms of development.
Should the substance be confirmed to be crude oil ,it may lead to the evacuation of residents of the community, Nana Egya Kwamena XI said there are other options to be looked at for settlement for the people of Apremdo should the need arise.
