Leaf Festival Announces Rocky Dawuni, Angelique Kidjo to Perform in 2022
The LEAF Festival returns after a two-year hiatus and is scheduled for October 20th – October 23rd in Black Mountain, North Carolina.
The 50th LEAF Festival features a 2022 lineup topped by Angélique Kidjo, Rising Appalachia, Rocky Dawuni and DakhaBrakha. The event was originally slated for May 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic. The event will be held at Lake Eden in Black Mountain, North Carolina, from October 20 – 23.
LEAF Festival’s Solid Gold 50th Festival has the theme “Legends of Africa.” The event returns to full scale this fall and will celebrate the music and culture of Africa with Kidjo and Dawuni among artists representing the continent. Donna The Buffalo, Chatham County Line, Johnny Irion, Chinobay, Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, Jordan Scheffer, KalimbaMan Kevin Spears and King Garfield are just a few additional acts set to perform at LEAF this fall.
“For the 50th Festival, we invited artists who had come to LEAF before and made a significant impact through their message, music or work with community youth,” explained LEAF Global Arts founder Jennifer Pickering. “As we curate each LEAF, we seek to create a journey to places, cultures and experiences through the music and arts. LEAF creates a platform and connection for powerful voices often underseen.”
In addition to music, LEAF will host performing artists, visual artists, outdoor activities and present camping options. Tickets are on sale now. Buy LEAF Festival 2022 tickets via www.theleaf.org.
