The District Chief Executive for Ellembele, Kwasi Bonzoh has donated assorted relief items to more than One Hundred and Fifty flood victims of Nzema Akropong and Adubrim communities in the Ellembelle district of the Western Region. This was a result of a downpour across the country on Saturday, June 18 through to Sunday, June 19 which led to the destruction of properties including buildings in the said communities.
The items include bags of rice, key soaps, toilet rolls, mosquito nets, rubber buckets and school uniforms for all students from kindergarten to JHS 3 in both affected communities.
Speaking at both communities, Mr Bonzoh said plans are under way with regards to a proper layout and also assisting them with building materials to be relocated. He promised to ensure that any property which may be destroyed on the released land for the relocation will be awarded compensation.
He urged them to unite and eschew politics of interest in the relocation process and think of the betterment and development of their communities. According to him, the project would be funded by the District Assembly.
