Black Stars winger Osman Bukari Joins Serbian side Red Star Belgrade
Black Stars winger Osman Bukari has joined Red Star Belgrade on a a four-year deal from KAA Gent in Belgium.
The Serbian giants announced the transfer on Tuesday. Bukari was unveiled after passing medical and will wear the number 19 shirt.
Bukari’s transfer is said to be a club record, meaning Red Star paid more than 3 million euros for the attacker.
“My first impression is great. I was doing great already now and I am very happy to be here,” Bukari said.
Bukari also spoke about his qualities but also emphasized that he can play in several positions.
“I can play on both sides, and I manage when I play behind the attacker. It is not a problem for me to play against teams that are mostly defending themselves. I can “break through” any defence and I always find my way to the goal.”
The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Nantes, where he helped them win the French Cup.
Bukari scored his first goal for Ghana earlier this month in a 3-0 win over Madagascar in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Cape Coast.
Bukari made his professional Fortuna Liga debut for AS Trenčín against Ružomberok on 29 July 2018.[1] He was named among the best 11 players in the Slovakia top-flight for the 2019–20 season, he has been the most influential player for his club AS Trencin and was also selected among the top three players shortlisted for the Player of the Season award.
