Doctor Confirms Deceased Taxi Driver Did Not Die By Suicide
The Pathologist at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital (ENRH), Dr Erskine who performed an autopsy on the deceased taxi driver has reiterated that the victim Joseph Entsie did not die by hanging.
It could be recalled that On December 25, 2021, the late Joseph Entsie was arrested and detained in custody at the Sekondi Central Police Station for allegedly breaking traffic rules.
The driver was later pronounced dead whilst in police custody.
The Police convened the sad news to the family indicating that their relative committed suicide whilst in custody.
An autopsy was ordered to be conducted to ascertain the real cause of the taxi driver’s death.
During a court proceeding today, Wednesday, June 1, 2022, Dr Erskine during the cross-examination, made it clear that even though there was a ligature mark below the deceased’s neck, his findings after performing the autopsy proved otherwise.
Meanwhile, colleagues of the deceased driver seem not pleased with the repetition of questions by the defence lawyer posed to the doctor. The case has however been adjourned to Friday, June 3, 2022.
“I prefer the Lawyer for the Defence not to ask some questions that were asked during the last hearing.
She kept asking the same questions, our lawyer asked. The case is clear which indicates that the driver did not hang himself to death. The question posed to the doctor was unnecessary. The doctor has confirmed that the man did not hang himself as purported by the Police report. At least there could be some signs on him to indicate that he hanged himself. The Judge has therefore ordered the defence to organize herself and appear in court on Friday, June 3.” He said.
The case has however been adjourned to Friday, June, 3,2022.
