Rwanda introduces visa-free entry to all Africans

Rwandan President Paul Kagame has initiated a policy of visa-free travel for all African citizens, making Rwanda the fourth African nation to adopt this approach.

President Kagame emphasized that any African can visit Rwanda without the need to pay for a visa.

This move is part of Rwanda’s strategy to leverage the growing tourism market driven by the continent’s expanding middle class.

Rwanda has been actively promoting its tourism sector and has engaged in partnerships with football clubs such as Arsenal and Bayern Munich to showcase the country as a tourist destination.

Rwanda now joins Seychelles, The Gambia, and Benin as one of the few African countries that grant visa-free entry to all African nationals.

In a similar vein, Kenya’s President William Ruto recently announced plans to eliminate visa requirements for all African visitors by 2024.

Additionally, many African nations have entered into bilateral agreements for visa-free travel, including Ghana and South Africa, as well as Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
