Nurses and Midwives To Push For “Emotional Allowance” – GRNMA President
According to the President of the Ghana Registered Nurses’ and Midwives’ Association (GRNMA), Mrs Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, due to the nature of their jobs they would be pushing for what she termed “Emotional Allowance.
For her, Ghanaian Nurses and Midwives go through various stress and emotional challenges in their line of duty.
“So if some workers are demanding Neutrality Allowances, we will forcefully push for Emotional Allowance too”, she stated.
She reiterated that they are entitled to Emotional Allowance considering the kind of things that they go through at the various health centres.
Mrs Ofori-Ampofo in an interview with the media, said, the kind of stress nurses go through calls for such an allowance and maintained that at their next negotiating meeting leadership will table it for consideration.
