The leadership of the Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana (MMAAG) has blamed the media for misrepresenting the leadership in their reports on the meeting the group had with President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House.
According to the leadership, the meeting with the President was to discuss issues surrounding the MoMo business and the impact E-levy has on the business.
As part of the meeting, the leadership also presented the socio-economic development interest of the Association before the President.
“It might interest you to note that, primarily, MMAAG met the president and others for the interest of its members and mobile money agents across the length and breadth of the country. Just as any other Association, MMAAG is lobbying for the betterment of its members so sabotaging Association should be mindful they way the consume media report without finding out the reality. MMAAG is not preventing any other MoMo Associations to lobby for their members.”
In a statement issued by the leadership of the Association, E- the levy is now in the laws of Ghana, so MMAAG cannot subvert it.
