W/R : Communities in Shama District to Benefit from Social Amenities
Two mechanized boreholes has been commissioned for the Chiefs and people of Bronyikrom and Atta ne Atta, communities within the Shama District.
This move is to help mitigate water shortage which affect daily activities of the people.
The project seeks to serve two communities; namely Atta ne Atta in Beposo and Bronyikrom respectively.
At a short ceremony , the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lower Pra Rural Bank and CEO of Radio Shama, Mr Kwamena Dekyi said, the project comes at a time where the people in the communities grapple over water during perennial water shortages.
“I was informed of how the people in Bronyikrom and its environs struggle to get water for various activities. We are here to officially commission the project, I am delighted at the pace of work done by the plumber. We know this project will serve the purpose for which it was constructed,” he said.
Togbe Fiabodu , Chief of Bronyikrom expressed gratitude to Mr Isaac Kwamena Afful for his kind gesture done to the community, and assured to maintain the project.
“We really suffer to get water especially in the dry seasons. We are really thankful for giving us such a project, ” Togbe said.
In the Dwomo community, Mr Isaac Kwamena Afful cut a sod for the construction of a twelve (12) seater toilet facility, after cutting a sod for borehole construction at Essumankrom.
According to him, the toilet facility will have 6 units for male and 6 female units respectively.
The toilet facility is expected to be completed in a months time to curb open defecation in the community.

Mr Kwamena Afful pledged to help the district in terms of developmental works.
Ebusuapanyin Nana Kwasi Egyire, showed appreciation on behalf of the elders and people of Dwomo to their benefactor for initiating such a project and look forward to more developments in the community.
