“There are no stool lands left for development” – Nana Egodzi Esson III
Nana Egodzi Esson III, the Chief of Kwesimintsim has unveiled that no stool lands are left for developmental works in his traditional area.
He mentioned that there are currently no stool lands left in Kwesimintsim for future expansion and development purposes should the need arises.
Nana Egodzi in an interview on Spice 91.9 FM expressed worry about the issue of inadequate lands in Kwesimintsim but was hopeful that local authorities would come up with means of revenue generation to help with the development of the town.
In his submission, Nana Esson recalled that he came to meet no land available after his installation as a chief. He said,” all lands were sold out to developers leaving none behind for future extension.”
He maintained that, currently, all lands are commercialized which connotes that there is a limited source of revenue to keep up with developmental projects in the town.
“The Town and Country Planning Lands mostly reserve parcels of lands for the construction of schools, factories, markets, when the need be but all those lands were turned into commercialized plots being sold out to people. have been rezoned by which leaves us with no lands. All lands are commercialized, “he said.
Nana Egodzi Essoun said, with the reclamation of royalties, would help to shore up some challenges about developments.
