Takoradi: Presiding Bishop of Methodist leads Dedication of Christ The King Preparatory School
The Presiding Bishop of Methodist Church Ghana, Most Rev.Dr.Paul Kwabena Boafo on Saturday, March 12 2022, led the dedication ceremony of the Christ The King Methodist Preparatory School in Anaji (Takoradi) which was built by the church as part of its social responsibility.
This was an occasion for the church to reflect on the hardwork, sacrifice, dedication and contributions of stakeholders in achieving such a magnificent feat. It is also to reiterate the church’s aspiration of training responsible children with emphasis on Morality, Excellence and Services.
The Presiding Bishop Dr.Paul Kwabena Boafo was assisted by The Rt. Rev Daniel Degraft Brace,(Diocesan Bishop), The Very. Rev. Solomon Sobeng (Synod Secretary), Rev. Isaac Castro Bosomtwe (Lay Chairman), and Very Rev.Isaac Kwame Ghartey (Superintendent Minister ).
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo noted that the church is determined to bring about development in the lives of people, through incorporating the best religion values and academic excellence to the wards of Patrons whether in the Urban or suburban settlement.
“700 children in this compound are been trained in collaboration with parents to bring them up as responsible citizens. Government, the Church will play it part, our distinctiveness as the Church the owes hinges on three areas namely; Morality, Excellence and Service which has become the bedrock of all Methodist schools in the country. This philosophy or Ministry does not change irrespective of the school’s location. He added that all these attributes about Methodist school do not change irrespective of the school’s location whether urban or suburban area. Teachers are also mandated to inculcate their professional ethics where as teachers are expected to bring morality and service to humanity”
He thanked the Head Pastor, the school’s management board, Regional education director, all and sundry for their contribution towards such a massive project.
Superintendent Minister, Very. Rev. Issac Kwame Ghartey speaking at the side line of the event added that the school will continue to offer quality and affordable education to the general public without discrimination to anyone irrespective of ones denomination.
He went ahead to lament on some of the challenges the school faces, he spoke about inconsistency in some of government educational policy as worry to the school’s management . According to him schools had recently prepared to adhered to government semester policy, “while plans and preparation were far advance, the program was withdrawn, this was worrying” he said.
He reiterated the church’s commitment to continue supporting the education of the vulnerable in society. He spoke about Christ The Kind development Center.
