2022 Chocolate Day: GTA to Intensify Awareness On Health Benefits Of Cocoa

In a bid to commemorate this year’s Chocolate Day, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MoTAC) in collaboration with Ghana Cocoa Board and Cocoa Processing Company has set February, 14, 2022 aside to intensify awareness on the health and nutritional benefits of cocoa across the country.

This year marks the 17th edition of Chocolate Day in Ghana to promote the economic potential of the cocoa value chain and promote domestic tourism.

According to a press release signed by the Western Regional Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority, George Nkrumah Ansere, the Chocolate Day is a week-long event scheduled to take place in Accra from February 12 to February 14.

The event would be celebrated on the major theme, “Eat Chocolate, Stay Healthy, Grow Ghana” and a sub theme, “Our Chocolate, Our Health, Our Wealth”.

The campaign is to promote the domestic consumption of Ghana Chocolate and other cocoa – based product, highlight the health benefit of chocolate. As part of the event, Regional office of the Authority would donate cocoa products to selected Mosque and Church denomination of Friday, February 11 and Sunday, February 13 accordingly.
