The Jospong Group of Companies (JGC) and waste management firm, Zoomlion Ghana Limited (ZGL), have climaxed the 2021 edition of their joint annual thanksgiving services in Takoradi in the Western Region.
The week-long thanksgiving was under the theme, “My Worship, My weapon, His Glory” taken from 2Chronicles 20:22, and was attended by workers, elders of the Church of Pentecost and some executives of the Group.
During the services, prayers were offered for the Jospong Group and its international investors, projects and business prospects while prayers were also offered for the prosperity and peace of Ghana.
Alhaji Abdulai Abdallah, Western Regional Manager of ZGL who read a speech on behalf of the Executive Chairman of JGC, Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong, indicated that the thanksgiving service has been held annually to acknowledge the faithfulness of God in the group’s operations, and also appreciate God for sustaining them.
He announced that it was the company’s custom to gather at the end of every year to celebrate the goodness of the Lord over the businesses, employees, families, the President and his executives and appointees in government, chiefs, partners and other stakeholders.
According to him, the Akufo-Addo administration has given real meaning to the truism that the private sector was the engine of growth, adding that through His Excellency’s transformational leadership and relevant policy interventions, an enabling environment for the private sector to grow has been created.
He observed that the enabling environment created empowers the private sector to do more, urging members in the sector not to waste it nor take it for granted.
He applauded President Akufo-Addo and his government, for his “immense contribution” to the environmental sanitation space in the country and said the projects have significantly helped to address the sanitation infrastructural deficit in the country and bridged the gap between waste collection and disposal with its accompanying consequences.
He also praised the workforce for their hard work towards the growth of the Jospong Group of Companies and Zoomlion.
Apostle Daniel Kojo Sey, Sekondi Area Head of the Church of Pentecost who gave a short exhortation deemed the theme as appropriate and said “our greatest weapon to victory in life and over the devil is worship which also paves way for God’s glory to be seen.
He recalled that there were many predictions by several experts globally about the deaths of Africans owing to the spread of the COVID-19 but, by lifting up worship as Africans to God no such deaths had been recorded.
Making reference from the Scriptures on the theme, he said Jehoshaphat was a man who understood what worship meant and resorted to it as his major weapon over the enemy.
He, therefore, implored the workers to learn from Jehoshaphat who mastered his fears through his worship to God in whatever situation they may find themselves adding, “let’s resort to worship at all times in all things. When there is no money when children and spouse are misbehaving and in all worst situations”.
