Western Regional Minister Denies instructing MMDAs To Fund His Father’s Funeral
The Western Region Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah has vehemently denied publication making rounds which points to the fact that he had instructed MMDCEs and MMDCDs in the region to make financial contributions toward the funeral of his late father, Nana Boanyina Adusei Mensah II, Boanimhene expected to take place between 23rd and 25th September 2021.
The publication indicates specific amounts of money expected to be paid by the 14 assemblies in the Western Region. The monies ranged from GH5000 to GH2000.
The publication is purported to be have been sanctioned by the Western Regional Coordinating Council and signed by Chief Director, Frederick Agyemang
Meanwhile, a press statement which was released by the office of the Minister denies knowledge about the purported letter in circulation, according to the statement, all information contained in the 15th September release has no basis.
The Minister also denies knowledge of a meeting where consensus was reached for MMDCEs and MMDCDs to contribute towards his father’s funeral.
“However, I have not instructed any MMDCE to make any payment in support of my father’s funeral or any other funeral.
It must be put on record that no such meeting has been held in any form wheresoever and condemn the circulated letter with the vehement it deserves”.
He charged the general public to disregard the false publication and consider it as a fabrication and pure propaganda to tarnish his hard-earned reputation.
“Please disregard and consider as not true any such information on the matter since the letter is fabricated and pure propaganda to tarnish the reputation of the hardworking Regional Minister.”

CONTRIBUTIONS TOWARDS FINAL FUNERAL RITES, FATHER OF HON REGIONAL MINISTER
The attention of my office has been drawn to a letter dated 15th September, 2021 on the above subject matter.
In the said letter, it was said that a discussion was held with the Deans of the MMDCEs and MMDCDs who agreed on the contributions as stated in the letter been circulated.
However, I have not instructed any MMDCE to make any payment in support of my father’s funeral or any other funeral.
It must be put on record that no such meeting has been held in any form wheresoever and condemn the circulated letter with the vehement it deserves.
Please disregard and consider as not true any such information on the matter since the letter is fabricated and pure propaganda to tarnish the reputation of the hardworking Regional Minister.
