Information reaching Beachfmonline indicates that Armed Robbers on Monday, 12 April 2021 shot a man who was in his private vehicle with his wife around the Anaji Taxi station at Amanful in the central business district and made way with the victim’s money.
The four-armed men around 2 pm carried the operation to take an undisclosed amount of money from the couple who had parked their car in the area.
According eye witness, the four armed robbers came on two motor bicycles and attacked the couple. In the course of the operation, the woman who was in possession of the money begun to shout, though people heard it initially but many believed it could be a normal husband and wife scuffle until the a gunshot was heard which made people pay attention .
The woman who was fitting to protect the money was hit several times with a gun which made her go unconscious. The man who was trying to protect the man was also shot twice on his arm and chest.
The unmasked robbers gave a warning shot to scare eye witness on the scene before leaving.
According to report, the driver was taken hospital by a Taxi driver at the Anaji station but he could not survive the gunshot wounds
According to reports, the victims were taken by one of the taxi drivers at the Anaji taxi station to the Takoradi hospital to receive treatment but the husband died and could not survive the gunshot wounds.
The deceased, Mr. Charles Korankye is a 61-year-old man who came from Accra to Takoradi to visit his sister, Sabina Annan with his wife. The bag that was taken is reported to contain the two passports of the couples and some foreign currencies including Ghana cedis as well.
