2020 Election Petition Ruling: Social Commentators Say, It Will Boost Investor Confidence
Some social commentators in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis (STMA) in the Western Region have said that now that the Supreme Court has dismissed the petition, there will be some form of relief and certainty in the minds of investors.
They said there was no doubt the petition did not affect all the sectors of the economy following the uncertainty in the minds of investors and for that matter, now that it is resolved, investors can be sure of their investment.
They therefore called on the business community to scout for business opportunities so that they can take advantage of them.
While others expressed dismay about the ruling and commended former President John Dramani Mahama, the petitioner for accepting the ruling, others were of the view that the ruling was not surprising.
Speaking to Spice News after the announcement of the verdict, Mr Samuel Alabire called on Ghanaians especially, political parties faithful to accept the outcome of the Supreme Court ruling in good faith.
According to him, the Supreme Court ruling should not jeopardize the peace and cohesion the country is enjoying in any way or part of the country.
Mr Charles Mintaba commended the Supreme Court for adjudicating on the petition in less than three months to decide on the outcome of the petition.
He called on the political parties and their supporters especially, polling station agents to be vigilant and apt in their respective roles during elections so as to avoid some of these discrepancies.
