Mortuary Workers to meet NLC today regarding planned strike

NLC

The Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG) leadership is scheduled to meet with the National Labour Commission (NLC) today in anticipation of their members’ planned indefinite strike.

The association cites the unresolved grievances of its workers as the driving force behind the impending action.

MOWAG is urging the government to fulfill the agreed-upon conditions of service established in 2020. Richard Kofi Jordan, the General Secretary of MOWAG, expressed dissatisfaction, stating that the government has not demonstrated sufficient commitment to address their concerns.

In an interview, Jordan mentioned the upcoming meeting with the NLC at 11 am, emphasizing their intention to abide by the law and evaluate the government’s proposals before deciding on the strike.

He stressed that their objective is not to inconvenience Ghanaians but to address the longstanding issue of unfulfilled commitments.
