Nkotompo Methodist Church fetes the aged and widows
The Nazareth Methodist Church at Nkotompo, a suburb of Takoradi, has treated the aged and widows in its catchment community to a feast to mark the Yuletide.
They were presented with hampers containing assorted drinks, can products, rice among others to help them make meaning of their Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Reverend Seth Williams, the Minister in charge of the Nkotompo Methodist Church said bringing a smile on the faces of widows and aged was a Godly duty that Christendom must uphold.
He said the aged and widows of which any person can become, must also be supported in order to get the same assistance should one get there.
“Helping them is securing our future and there is no better time than Christmas where such people need love to feel part of the season”, he added.
To the aged, the Reverend Minister encouraged that they should endeavour to be happy and cheerful all the time despite weariness, as Christ was preparing them for a glorious church, “We definitely need you around for counsel and direction and we need you to be hearty”.
Very Reverend John Keeku Ackom, the Superintendent Minister stressed the need for all to be thankful to God for a successful year despite the Coronavirus diseases.
He urged the church to sustain the gesture in bringing hope to the underprivileged among them.
