Sekondi inmates & Kith Care receive help from Opportunity Int’l Savings and Loans
Staff of Opportunity International Savings and Loans Ltd in Takoradi in the Western Region have presented a number of items to the tune of GH¢ 2,000.00 to inmates at the Sekondi Female Prisons and the Kith Care Home Centre in Takoradi.
The items include toiletries, detergents, sanitary pad, slippers, toothpaste and brush, bags of rice, gari, water, assorted drinks, tin tomatoes, mackerel and an amount of GH¢ 200.00.
Mr Kwabena Acheampong, Takoradi Branch Manager of Opportunity International Savings and Loans Ltd who made the presentation on behalf of the staff said the donation forms part of the staff’s widows might to support the needy during the festive season and to put smiles on the faces of the destitute.
He extended the empathy of the staff to the inmates, some of whom he said were there through no fault of theirs.
He also admonished them to live in love, fear of God and wisdom, and gave them the hope that their time will definitely come to be released.
The Second in Command at the Ward, DSP Judith Abbiw who received the items on behalf of the Management of the Female Prison expressed her profound gratitude to the staff for the kind gesture, counting them worthy and considering their plight.
She also appealed to individuals and corporate bodies to emulate the example of the bank and come to their aid since whatever they donate will be appreciated and will go a long way to improve the conditions of the inmates.
The founder of Kith Care Home Centre, Habiba Fuseini who also received the items on behalf of the Home on her part commended the staff and thanked them for the donation.
