Ghanaians to celebrate Christmas without clubbing and pubbing
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated explicitly that this year’s Christmas would be celebrated without clubbing and pubbing as pubs, beaches and nightclubs will remain closed.
Borders will also remain closed, the President stated.
Giving his 20th update on COVID-19 to the nation, President Akufo-Addo thanked Ghanaians for abiding by the COVID-19 safety protocols and urged Ghanaians to observe the safety protocols during these Christmas festivities.
According to him, the death ratio has also been kept at base, even though regrettably over three-hundred (300) people have lost their lives, as three-hundred and fifty-three (353) deaths have been recorded.
He announced that Ghana will get vaccines from the United States (US) when it is ready whereas the Government will make sure that the vaccines were secured and safe before giving them out.
However, nothing was said about the reopening of schools though many Ghanaians were in earnest expectations to hear about it as the President first announced giving the address on his Facebook page this morning.
It’s been over nine (9) months since the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) first hit the shores of Ghana after being declared pandemic.
Since then the country has recorded quite a number of cases but with diligence and stringent measures, the country has managed the pandemic to one of the lowest of the African continent.
To keep the nation updated, President Akufo-Addo has been addressing the nation from time to time on the measures put in place to contain the pandemic.
