Bawumia Swerves Takoradi NPP Fans
The much anticipated and talked about health walk dubbed,”4 More 4 Nana Victory Walk” which was to feature the Vice-President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the Special Guest of Honour started and ended without the visible presence of the Vice-President.
The hopes of some sympathisers of the Vice-President and party stalwarts who thronged the starting point for the walk at Asempa Hotel near the Kwame Nkrumah Roundabout in their numbers to catch a glimpse of him and some other big wigs of the party like Abronye DC and others were dashed as there were no traces of him.
The Vice-President, Dr. Bawumia was represented by a Vice-Presidential Staffer, Augustine Blay.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was seen interacting with the Transformers Youth group at Korle Wokon in the Odododiodio Constituency of the Greater Accra Region. The motive was to get the support of the youth group for the parliamentary aspirant, Nik Lante Bannerman to unseat the incumbent MP, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye of the NDC.
The ractional behind his visit to the constituency was to peg the Mr Nik Lante Bannerman against the fierce incumbent MP for the constituency, and was strategically tailored to shake the tables this time in the area with the aspirant who is contesting for a second time against the incumbent.
The purpose of the health walk which was held last Sunday, was to increase the vote margin of the Takoradi Constituency candidate, Kobby Okyere Darko-Mensah and was supported by nine constituencies within the region.
Present at the event were a Vice-Presidential Staffer, Augustine Blay; Musician Bice Osei Kufour (Obour); Mr Isaac Armoh, former MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon; Mr Mireku Ducker, MP for Tarkwa-Nsuaem and Mr Joseph Cudjoe, MP for Effia.
The rest are Mr Ignatius Asaah Mensah, DCE for Mpohor; Regional Chairman, Ndede Siah; Regional Communications Director of the party, Issah Fuseini; regional and constituency executives of the party and some youth groups within the party.
Other highlights of the health walk dubbed,”4 More 4 Nana Victory Walk” include a free medical screening which was massively patronised and unveiling of a land awaiting sod-cutting to begin the construction of an astro turf expected to be completed before the end of the year.
