Spice Fm makes move to provide quality radio to its listeners
Management of Spice Fm (91.9 MHz), a Takoradi-based radio station and a subsidiary of Focus 1 Media Group has put an ultramodern studio as part of its efforts to provide quality contemporary radio to its listeners dotted across the Western and Central Regions.
The station recently relocated to its new plush five-storey building at Plot 504 Fijai, a suburb of Takoradi in the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly (EKMA) of the Western Region.
Prior to the relocation, Spice Fm operated from the Adjumakoman Building on the Sekondi-Takoradi road near the Takoradi Technical University (TTU) alongside its sister-station, Beach Fm for the past eleven (11) years.
The station owned by a media business giant, Mr Kwame Adu Mante is the oldest brand of the Focus 1 Media Group with other subsidiaries like Beach Fm (Takoradi), Orange Fm (Kumasi), Offie Fm and Pluzz Fm in Accra.
The station that has created a niche for itself in sports has had ace sports presenters like Kuntu Blankson, Joseph Mensah Oti-Asirifi and Aminu Zylla (deceased) among others.
The Spice Fm brand currently boasts of Western Region’s finest entertainment host Yoofi Eyeson, Adwoa Nyamewaa Papabi branded as the ‘Queen of Afternoon Radio’, evergreen sports presenters like Kyei Baffour, Abaidoo Abednego and fast rising DJ’s like Magnus and DJ Storm.
It recently engaged the services of Rev Seth Ameyaw Danquah, a top-notch journalist and a corporate executive as the News Editor with additional responsibility in production.
Mr Abaidoo Abednego, Programs Manager at Spice Fm was grateful to Management and said the new set up has set the tone perfectly for excellence and quality delivery of programs and entertainment to its listeners.
He pointed out that listeners can only expect good and quality programs and entertainment through a quality sound medium henceforth and thanked the listeners for arguably making the station the number one in the region.
Mr Emmanuel K. Sagoe, the station’s Traffic Manager said though works are still ongoing for the final completion of the studio, it has rekindled the spirit of excellence among on-air staff.
He was of the view that presenters are poised to deliver optimum quality shows and opined that the station is one of the biggest media brands in the Western Region with a large audience, making it enviable to job seekers in the industry.
Currently, the Spice Fm brand is being managed by Mr Kojo Amoako Nzoley with a host of cutting edge staff who are bent on achieving excellence in the industry.
