Akufo-Addo’s boy fingered for causing division in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency
Mr Blessed Abbey, Party Communicator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency under the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly (TNMA) of the Western Region has accused the party’s Western Regional Secretary, Charles Onuawontor Bissiw for being the brain behind Madam Joy Joycelyn Andoh’s decision to contest as an independent candidate in the December 7 polls.
He recounted that after the Vetting Committee’s sitting heralding the party’s parliamentary primaries to elect a candidate for the constituency in the December elections, it was announced by the party’s Regional Chairman, Ndede Siah that Madam Joy Joycelyn Andoh and one other candidate who contested had been disqualified to go and do their homework for the next primaries.
However, as soon as the Chairman declared the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), George Mireku Ducker as unopposed, Mr Bissiw also rebutted and said the contest was going to be between the incumbent and Madam Andoh which sparked so many hullabaloo/agitations.
According to Mr Abbey who was speaking on Mr Kwame Offei, host of Spice Fm’s “Adzekyee Mu Nsem”, Madam Andoh has some party members who go on radio to speak for her and any time they went on the radio their first greeting went to Mr Bissiw for which reason they deduce that the Regional Secretary was behind her.
“We don’t have any issue with Mr Bissiw because we have stood with him and defended him on several instances. When he was accused in the Anas Aremeyaw’s expose on galamsey and the missing excavators saga, we defended him, but his moves in handling the brouhaha between Madam Andoh and the incumbent betrayed him”, he stressed.
He added that the hard work of the constituency Executives and that of the party stalwarts during the last elections which brought massive votes to the NPP cannot go down the drain and therefore called for the resignation of the Regional Secretary before they mobilise themselves against him.
Notwithstanding, all attempts to get Mr Charles Bissiw who doubles as a Presidential Staffer for his reactions to the issues raised against him yielded no result.
Meanwhile, President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo during his recent tour of the region called Madam Joycelyn Andoh to order and said no lost parliamentary aspirant of the party in the primaries was permitted to go independent.
The brouhaha between the two factions has generated a lot of controversies and unfounded actions in the constituency in recent times as supporters of the two had gone berserk destroying billboards belonging to the two.
