Opt for resit, if you are not prepared enough for the exams, Director of Public Affairs, UCC, advices Concern Teacher Trainees

The director of public Affairs UCC, Major Rtd Kofi Baah Bentum has urged concern teacher trainees who feel not prepared enough for upcoming examination schedule to take place on September 9th on the basis of short notice to opt for a resit examination as an option as management works around the clock to re-look into the issue to make a decision.

Responding to calls from concern Teacher Trainees that the reporting and examination date scheduled on 31st August and 9th September 2020 respectively after the locked down is too short enough for proper preparation to ensure a successful sitting. The Students also considers the E- learning option during the locked as unsuccessful.

President in his last COVID-9 briefing officially announced   October 24th as the official re-opening date for all Tertiary institutions. ‘‘With tertiary institutions such as UCC, Technical Universities  and University of Allied sciences, the re-opening has become more necessary due the challenges that bedeviled the E-learning with the above institutions, therefore the need for these schools to resume and to start preparation towards their respective exams”.

Major Rtd Kofi Baah Bentum who responded to the issue on Adze Kye Mu Nsem on Spice Fm 91.9(Takoradi) with Kwame Offei was surprise about students acting like they never knew that there was an impending examination expected to be held on campus after the lock down, he insisted there has been an official communication to that effect therefore   students knew about the examination though no official date for the exams had been communicated.

“I am surprise that the students are acting like they don’t know anything about the impending examination because we had informed them long ago that after the lock down that  they  will resume on campus to take their exams though we didn’t give an official date amid COVID-19”

He went on further to advice the students who are not prepared enough for the examination to consider a resit as an option as management prepares to meet and deliberate on the issue.

“Students have the option to partake in the resit examination if they are not prepared enough. It will not be treated as failed papers but the only effect is it will delay ones graduation”

Rafel Ntoso, Members of The Concern Teacher spoked about the challenges the students have with the authorities of the various Trainee Colleges for deduction a feeding fee of 196gh   and dues of 4gh Respectively   from their 3 months allowance though students have not been on campus for three months due to the locked down. He called on authorities to restore the anomaly

“We have been on campus for three months, so why will the various college authorities decide to deduct 196gh as a feeding fee and 4gh as dues. We appealing to the authorities to quickly restore the anomaly without hesitation”.
